Primary Prevention
Strategies that prevent a problem from occurring.

Secondary Prevention
Strategies that target at risk populations.
Prevención secundaria: Estrategias dirigidas a poblaciones en riesgo.
Tertiary Prevention
Strategies that address the problem after it occurs.

Community Based Child Abuse Prevention
CBCAP Purpose
- to support community-based efforts to develop, operate, expand, enhance, and coordinate initiatives, programs, and activities to prevent child abuse and neglect and to support the coordination of resources and activities to better strengthen and support families to reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect; and to foster understanding, appreciation and knowledge of diverse populations in order to effectively prevent and treat child abuse and neglect.
Propósito de CBCAP
- apoyar los esfuerzos comunitarios para desarrollar, operar, expandir, mejorar y coordinar iniciativas, programas y actividades para prevenir el abuso y la negligencia infantil y apoyar la coordinación de recursos y actividades para fortalecer y apoyar mejor a las familias para reducir la probabilidad de abuso y negligencia infantil; y fomentar comprensión, apreciación y conocimiento de las diversas poblaciones para prevenir y tratar eficazmente el abuso y la negligencia infantil.
